The night began with a Neil Diamond tribute band. As it goes you either love him or you hate him. My girlfriend confided she had gone to a Neil Diamond concert and had front row tickets. And loved it. I seriously considered breaking up with her on the spot. I'm surprised there isn't a box in standard divorce papers: 1) Mental illness 2) Irreconcilable differences 3) Likes Neil Diamond.

But then the fireworks show started. I love the fireworks! The big kind. I hope you Euros have invented excuses to watch things blow up in the night sky like we have. Yankee Doodle Dandy blaring over the loudspeakers, it's great. *BAAANG!*

I think next year me and my mates are gonna try out for the tribute band part. But instead of Neil Diamond we'll play Pavement songs. We'll tell the organizers it's Bon Jovi. They won't know the difference.

It might work. ;-)

Bet you lucky BBQing DiSers didn't have fireworks. Ha! But maybe their was some cool music. :-)
