In my rock 'n roll prime time I grew up with the likes of the Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana and so on. Pavement still gets chatted up here as much as anything "current". And while I'm inclined to think their are more good bands today than ever, I wonder if there's anything that's gonna stand the test of time as well.

When I pose this question to myself Coldplay automatically jumps into my head, except they've already jumped the indie ship to the mainstream. Fair enough. But who're DiSers gonna be hung up on ten years from now? The White Stripes? That'd be a good guess. The Arcade Fire? Too early to tell, perhaps?
