ralphcore's comment on the Germs inspired this thread. The Germs were great if you enjoy watching a spastic junkie roll around in broken beer bottles. Their legend is a lot bigger than their sound.

That reminded me of the story of Siouxsie's first gig. Supposedly, McKay? had just learned to play the guitar two weeks earlier. EATB's Will Sergeant has a similar story. In fact, the Bunnymen's drummer, who was unbelievably talented, also had no real prior experience before signing on.
