I want to buy a new guitar. My guitar at present is a quite metal Ibanez RG series and I want something a bit more versatile and that looks less Steve Vai.

I don't like the looks much but they sound great.

Or a Jazzmaster/Jaguar.
I love the way they look (admittedly cliched) but I was wondering if anyone had any opinions?
Obviously I'm going to try before I buy anyway but would be good to hear of opinions on these guitars or other things for similar price (up to say £600, 750 at a push).
