Why At the Drive-In are better than Oasis
Why At the Drive-In are better than Oasis.
Anyone who really gives a shit about music knows that being in a band and making music is nothing to do with making money. Oasis are band that exist for the sole purpose of filling Messrs. Gallaghers pockets. They have consistently stated throughout their career that they wanted to be "the biggest band in the world", and after achieving that through 2 albums that were great at the time, they then slumped into pumping out any old shite
that will keep them with larger than your average bank balances.
At the Drive-In however broke up at the height of their career, and therefore have avoided falling into the trap that Oasis will now never escape from. Their last testament "Relationship of Command" is not a perfect record, not every note is sung or played perfectly, but this is not the point. At the Drive-In did not care that this was the case, because they were doing it out of passion and love for music. This can be seen through their willingness to improvise and experiment on stage. It doesn't really matter what Bixler is singing, all that matters is
he is yelling it with all his conviction. ATD-I have PASSION, something which Oasis fans seem to have in droves, if only their heroes did too. Oasis are a lazy and shoddy band who really don't seem to give a fuck about their songs or live shows, and are more concerned with living the life of "real rock n rollers" and the excesses that it brings.
Of course the real question her is "Will anyone bother to read this all the way through??"
