When push comes to shove they're probably my favourite band, and Miami is certainly my favourite record, but I'm chargrined at the number of right-minded people with otherwise expansive tastes who are largely unfamiliar with them - Fire Of Love and Miami in particular should be issued at the age of 13 to every child in the country. And The Las Vegas Story, in it's messy way, is a masterpiece....

And I think I like them even more for JLP's obvious overreaching mis-steps - Wildweed with it's dodgy production, the Pink Flamingo 'sound sculpture', the inadvisability of a white man doing a 10 minute long straight cover of Strange Fruit.

Who else loves them some Jeffrey Lee Pierce? I want to see who all the smart people are around here
