your 5 most influential albums

jon_davies01 [Edit] [Delete] 20:03, 24 February '08

not necessarily the best, but albums that really made you change the way you saw music,

1. London Calling - The Clash
really influenced by how they touch on so many styles yet still sound like them
2. Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
I used to think all springsteen was bloated, but they sound of the album just blows me away each time
3. Dirty Projectors - The Ghetty Address
I love the way Longstreth uses modern classical instrument and even melodies and sampled them to create an incredible collage that somehow sounds rather poppy
4. Converge - Jane Doe
the sheer brutality of the album is insane, and Kurt Ballou's writing skills is something to be desired
5. Fugazi - Steady Diet of Nothing
I was into stuff like bad religion and rancid when i first heard fugazi, and loved how they made punk so much more danceable without losing its aggression

et vous?
