does anyone else think it might not be such a good thing that every city in the UK is being swallowed up by these things

its like the mcdonaldisation of music phase II
(phase I being the detonation of the charts)

squeezing out choice and variety ... i mean, here we have the two universitys - both cater to slightly different audiences (in general, newcastle has rock and northumbria has indie) ... but now this new place is going to rival both in terms of size and acts.

which sucks , because the 5 university venues all have character and different atmospheres ... and now possibly 4 of them are gonna be pushed outta the way by a soulless ex-bingo hall
