I finally heard the Tom Vek album today. What a miserable load of twaddly 'scenester' lyrics over mind-numbingly dull backing tracks. Fucking hell. And he grew up in a recording studio, for fuck's sake. You'd have thought he would have learned something in that time. Well actually maybe he has: How to cover up a lack of talent with enough production to convince people to sign him.

What I find even funnier is how much of a thing is made of him playing all the instruments. Given how piss-easy it is to play guitar and how not particularly difficult it is to move on to drums I don't really see why this is seen as a 'selling point' but apparently it is. I'd only hope for his sake that it's some cunt in a suit at the label responsible for that...

(On a purely anal, personal level, I wish he'd learn how to use an apostrophe.)
