Bud wising
Having swallowed my pride and decided that a free gig is a free gig and ultimately worth going to, despite it's cororate behemoth financial backing, I was a little surprised and not a little pissed off to be told last night at 93 Feet East's Bud Rising gig that their was;
a) No draught beer - not that unusual, it sometimes happens. Perhaps there was a problem with the pumps
b) No bottled beer other than Budweiser in stock, when quite clearly there were bottles of San Miguel, Tiger, BUDVAR and a host of others visible - in the adjacent fridge.
Corporate sponsorship is one thing but when it's dictatorial and involves the loss of "free choice" which is surely what being a "consumer" is all about I think we're entitled to get more than pissed off. To add insult to injury each bottle was £3!
Anyone going to the Bud Risisng gigs be warned.
Full credit to The Earlies for being as sarcastic in their contratually-obliged endorsements of Bud as possible.
