Due to growing up reading the rock press and being told countless times that sting is a cunt, it is only recently that i gave the police much of a listen.
they had some GREAT tunes.


but, lyrically, was sting being ironic, or just a cunt?

i mean, Roxanne: some John ordering a ho to stop doing what shes doing because he doesnt like having to share her, presented as a love song?

a love song with a GREAT chorus?

and "dont stand so close to me" with the lines "he sees her and starts to shake and cough/just like the old man in that book by Nabokov"?

gees. and they were MASSIVE!
