Worst No. 1
Geez, that Recovery thread is getting to be a right shite Dr Phil fest! Let's get back to some serious slags, shall we?!
So I'm watching a few minutes of VH1, for thread ideas. I saw Steve Albini praise ZZ Top. "Earth to Steve, come in Steve!" I saw Billie Joe Green Day say Cheap Trick's Surrender was one of the best rock tunes of all time. (I imagined the next sequence was BJ's grandmother coming on and saying he'd gotten his head stuck in a waffle iron as a boy.) But nothing.
Then it came. Like I knew it would. Nelly and some country star teaming up (Tim McGraw?) for a schmaltzy ballad called 'Over and Over'. I heard four bars of this and knew this was the worst song ever. And then the announcer says it was a number 1 hit for months. And that these two may team up again blah, blah, blah.
What's the worst No.1 song? (You pick the chart. Admittedly, your chances of topping my pick is improved greatly by using the Billboard Top 100. *sigh* .)
