I really don't get why some normally sensible folk like them. Can someone please explain?

All I hear is a slightly better version of Oasis (which isn't hard. I know they came before Oasis and that's a silly comparison.) a bit of wanky "psychedelic"-ness and then some random ripped off riff. Don't even get me started about their position on that Observer Magazine poll of the best British albums...

Oh, and while I'm at it - David Bowie. I don't see/hear the appeal there either at all...
