Disco - Greg Wilson (Hacienda) this Friday in London
This Friday night will be all about disco at The Vibe Bar, Brick Lane - it's the launch of LP 'Deep Disco Culture Vol 2 (disco and a lot of Italo Disco) released by Suss'd Records (Mr Chris Barnett).
Special guest DJ is Mr Greg Wilson (Mr Hacienda, you know? He taught Fatboy Slim how to scratch and is widely revered... the likes of Groove Armada and a whole heap of other acts including Digitalism cite him as a major influence in their music).
Free before 8pm or £4 thereafter.
For those more hardcore, there will be some kind of after party on at Herbal (I have no idea what's the story with that one)... The theme will carry on over the weekend as Sunday night, the party will culminate in a special night run in-conjunction with Horse Meat Disco (total party boys in women's clothes - you may remember them from Lost Vagueness at Glastonbury or Lovebox this year - and having a moustache attached to your face).
Perhaps, most importantly, there is an exhibition attached to the show detailing night life in the 1970s which features the original work of photographer Mr Allan Tannenbaum (Studio 54). That is being shown at the glass looking gallery next to The Big Chill Bar on Brick Lane (starting 1st Nov through till 4th).
It's all about disco!
