Many of you have asked, Rainman why don't you become a music critic? Simply, the answer is because a critic must have an open mind on all genres. And since hip-hop and metal are amongst rock 'n roll genres I don't get, don't wanna get I'll remain a hobbyist.

Alright, no one's asked me that. But if someone had that's what I'd say.

The best and worst shows coming this summer?

Coachella has such a wonderful line-up, esp Sunday, but dammit I hate festivals and I esp hate them in the freakin' desert.
Trail of Dead.
Built To Spill
Stephen Malkmus and Jicks
The Pixies (again)

Shows I'll likely pass:
Oasis. I wonder if they actually picked Jet to open? WTF.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers. John Fruisante not withstanding, this is an entirely overrated band. I saw them 20 years and they were crap. They're worse today.

Shows I wouldn't be caught dead at:
Wango Tango. This is the J.Lo, Gwen Stefani, Will Smith crap only 12 year olds and people on life support could enjoy.
Vans' Warped Tour. These are the bands that nearly killed music for me. Can anything good be said about Avenged 7fold? I think not.
The Eagles. When exactly did hell freeeze over?
