The Akron/Family are a new band.

They are a strange mixture of strings, folk, strumming, beeping and whirring, ambient washes and heartbreakingly simple and brilliant melodic songwriting. I have just sat through their debut record with my mouth hanging open in amazement. The record is called "Akron/Family CD" and came out yesterday on Young God records. I think it might be a classic. I'm not sure yet, but I honestly think it could be. Honest.
