a few months a go, on these forums, i expressed my belief that the following two records were 'over-rated';

Television- Marquee Moon
My Bloody Valentine- Loveless

i had listened to both records extensively and honestly could not see why the indie hardcore made such a fuss of them. i suspected that said affection stemmed from classic received opinion and scenester politics.

i was wrong.

both records are great. in fact, Loveless (at least) is bloody brilliant. i have no idea why i didn't 'get' it before... recently its textures just appealed more and more to my subconscious, i guess, and i found myself moving from indifference to wub.

i love it when that happens. :)
