Some days ago SCL asked me what they were like. I didn't know. I promised to post an opinion after seeing them live. Saturday I saw them live.
My opinion is that they are top notch in a Franz Ferdinand meets The Smiths on the way to Ian Curtis' house (he won't be in by the way, he's dead) sort of way.
Lots of wide-eyed, limb jerking tom foolery, which reached its spastic climax during "Blood," which is also easily their best tune.
New ground is not broken but then anyone who can actually persuade 100 punters to come and watch a gig in Cambridge, the contented middle-class apathy capital of the UK, is doing something right.
