Take more care in aiming your criticism.
I think The Harry/nazi thread shows that most people have not kept on the ball enough , there is something that should be criticised more acutely than Harry (In this case) even if you hate the Royals you should not allow your own critical integrety to be fooled by the newspapers.
Let me ramble a bit first to explain.
Anyway as you may know, I mostly think that the Royals are not to be admired, on the whole, as people, certainly people should not be looking 'up' to them, If we just take it as read that we know they are not exceptional in any way other than ther priviledge that has been granted them, by chance of birth, and that we may consider this wrong in a society which still seems to slightly equate wealth with good.
We would then be left with....a) a teenager, who has probably had a disturbed and confusing childhood/adolescent, and had confusing and elitist advice given him by his father and grandfather, b) who knows what bizarre adolescent reasoning was behind the wearing of the swastika? When I was his age I know I was perverse....maybe some of his wayward mates had been ribbing him about his great great uncle being Hitlers mate and he thought that that would be jape to dress like that in front of his freinds...
b) we are basically assuming that his crime is one of foolishness and insensitivity (OK I know you want to hang all the royals with this incident but) the point is if he was foolish, it was because he did not consider the fallout and upset from his actions, even though in his position he should have expected to have been on the front pages, so he is a foolish niave teenager who does not consider the consequences, and as a result has been accused of insensitivity due to the effect it has had on those who were affected by the haulocaust.
BUT BUT BUT....before the newspapers published the pictures, no one was upset cos no one knew, they published that he had upset people, before they had been upset, they were only upset once they read the paper.
The only excuse that the paper would have had in publishing was if it thought that Harry genuinly was a facist. As it is I believe them to be far more involved in the mass upset caused then Harry, (Unless he did it knowing that it would get out and cause upset)
The papers caused any mass upset through the pursuit of a good cover and therefore money.
Harry caused the mass upset through teenage foolishness at not thinking about the likely consequences
of his actions.
I'm sorry say but most people have been decoyed into blaming Harry, when your efforts should have been concentrated on castigating the papers (In this case) for extreme hypocrasy (In this case).
The Royals may be wrong but the Sun was wronger (In this case)
Stay frosty people, ......be aware....it is very easy to be led astray, especially when you become convinced of something.
Take out the scummy journalists first, then the royals, then foolish niave teenagers.
Although I do think the queen does her job as a diplomat well, shame she can't as a queen keep her family in line.
