read it? The Arcade Fire are number 1, its not a great list. No Hot Snakes, Icarus Line, Hunches, Ponys, Mclusky etc etc. I dunno, their end of year polls always feel tokenistic, like they can't make it too guitar-y or something so they slip in a bunch of rap or british stuff like the streets and dizzee rascal. Also the language they use never makes me feel like the writers actually love the records, more like they admire them because they are cool. I mean who uses the term "de facto" when trying to describe how great a record is?
