When I was growing up in the backwaters of Derbyshire, Christmas was the usual old routine that everyone moans about. However, the one thing I looked forward to was the NME Christmas Double issue. It had about 150 pages, a massive crossword, and all of those contentious end-of-year lists that I always liked to compare my yearly purchases too. It was an event, and it's arrival signalled the christmas holidays.

Yesterday, I went to the shop and was browsing the 'adult' section (even Lil' Bamos gets lonely at Christmas..) when I saw NME's Albums Of The Year issue. One week early, in a format that now takes up four pages rather than the old easy-to-read two, and without a big crossword.

I am really annoyed at this. So annoyed, that I went home and took my anger out on Lil' Bamos. I hate change!
