Hey, good name for an album, huh?
But no. Mo'fo' who's gonna sell me a guitar said he wants to keep it now. Thought I was gonna get a $5000 axe for a grand. So I spent all the money on CDs and one lobster dinner. Here's how I spent my last few hundred. By all means, ridicule, praise or otherwise comment on my selections.
Blur - Parklife. Please don't gimme the Britpop is passe shite. Even if true Blur is the exception to the rule. Trust me.
Nick Cave - Greatest. Nicolle's choice.
Black Keys - Rubber Factory. DiS/Pitchfork.
Ash - 1977. Heard a few tracks. Not bad, not earth shattering, either.
Mansun - Kleptomania. Tough to find in the states. Just when you think you've got MOR Pink Floyd they do something horribly wonderfully weird. A keeper.
Japan - Obscure Alternatives. Sample lyric from Love Is Infectious: She carries love in a career bag, her body ain't clean oh, oh, oh. This record is infectious!
The Glove - Blue Sunshine. Robert Smith/Steve Severin collaboration. It's really groovy.
Earlimart - Treble & Tremble. Pitchfork. Opened for EATB and on sale.
Zutons - Who Killed... DiS. The horns frighten me, but I'm willing to try anything once. Sometimes twice. ;-)
The Wonder Stuff - HUP. I already tol ya. They're a drunk Teenage Fanclub.
X - Greatest. Old time punk essential.
Scott Walker - Climate of Hunter. DiS. Bunnyfans seem to like this guy.
2nd Spin (used)
Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll. Creakyknees. Saw 'em fifteen years ago. Like a soft breeze blowing through the windows of an eerie mansion.
Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True Deluxe. Duh!
Interpol - TOTBL. Replacement disc. Yep, it's essential.
The Rapture - Echos. Pitchfork.
REM - Automatic for the People. Staple alternative. It's important!
Nirvana - Unplugged and Nevermind.
Spiritualized - Amazing Grace. I don't even really like 'em. $6 WTF. *shrugs*
Sonic Youth - NYC & Flowers. Not gonna be as good as the candle on the cover one I'll bet. Oh well.
Winning Days. Receipt doesn't have band name and I can't remember. WTF *shrugs*
Smashing Pumpkins - Adore. I really like this. I like it a lot.
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking. Really the only essential Jane's record, eh?
The Hives - VVV & Tyrannosaurus. Both for $12, a bargain.
Hole - Celebrity Skin. Courtney may be an embarrassment, but her music ain't too shabby.
X - More Fun in the New World. I's pretty content with the greatest hits package, but for $6 I couldn't pass it up.
(I really only do this to give you guys a chance to talk about a band that ain't incorporated into yer user name. Now, who wants to talk about Ian McCulloch?)
