radio 1 last night-what did you reckon
was reading the initial John Peel thread and it's responses and noticed there were scarcely any comments on last nights shows and whether they were a fitting tribute to Peely or not.
personally i felt that the dj's did a good job.i felt Zane Lowe was a tad overstated in his language but the sentiment was commendable.Mike Davies was very good, playing some records which wouldn't usually fit into the demographic of The Lock Up.
Lammo's show was the highlight, certainly the most moving thing i've ever heard on radio. There was a thread which was less complimentary about Lammo:" to hear someone speaking from autocue in a voice with absolutely no emotion really disgusted me."i couldn't agree less with this.Lamacq sounded truly sad about Peely's passing and recounted some great stories.A fine night of radio all round, in keeping with the standard of the great man's shows.
