To Be Or Not To Be
I've never owned a seriously quality instrument before, but I'm salivating at the prospect. Friend of mine wants a cool grand for an acoustic Guild. Belonged to Slash, one of many I suppose, but it's a kinda cool conversation piece nonetheless, eh? Says it's 'custom' which probably means he doesn't know the model. I checked on eBay and they seem to range from $500 - $1500, and I'm guessing this one is a top-of-the-line one. I've not even seen it yet, as he says it's been in storage for 10 yrs and in perfect condition. Whadda ya think? It'd mean not eating for a month, putting my CD purchases on hold and (dread) actually having to work, when I'm at work. Eating's overrated anyway, right?
Note: My buddy has this really cool old Gibson electric which he gets a thrill outta seeing the likes of Carl Barat and the Garbage guitarist play. And it is beatiful and somehow never gets outta tune. But I wouldn't spend that kinda dough on an electric cos, erm, they basically all sound the same. But this acoustic.... couldn't sleep last night just thinking about it. (mm!, black, with fancy inlays in the frets.... :-) .)
Other than me liking the action, rich tone, and no dings what am I looking for in terms of getting my money's worth?
