Punk Rock Died A Long Time Ago
OK, I'm old. But I don't get today's so-called punk rock. Sounds like speed metal played by kids with spikey green hair. "OK, you're angry. I get it." No. Fuck, no.
Punk rock was the Sex Pistols, Generation X, the Damned, the Buzzcocks, Sham 69, Nine, Nine, Nine, X, Dead Kennedy's and so on. Somewhere in the eighties the New Romantics took over (and most of us took cover with the even better post-punk sounds of EATB, Joy Division etc). Today's kids have the same energy, erm, just not the same talent, methinks.
Even Steve Jones can't stand today's version of punk rock. "Bloody awful." Please refute/elaborate or otherwise guffaw.
