Fun Facts!
Cos we love useless trivia....
Did you know a discouraged Robert Smith was prepared to disband The Cure and rejoin the Banshees as their guitarist? Despite three (or was it four?) beautiful records it took the hit single Lets Go To Bed to give Robert the will to go on. Yeah, true. Did you know that Robert and Banshees bassist Steve Severin formed a band for a one-off record. Yup. The Glove put out Blue Sunshine with an Allison Moyet sound-a-like doing most of the vocals (Robert sings on two or three of 'em.) Darn decent record.
OK. You brilliant mo'fo's knew that. OK, well did you know David Bowie pulled Iggy Pop from near distinction... twice. Bowie got the Stooges signed on RCA and got Ig $25,000 for new equipment (which Ig promptly spent on drugs, much to RCA's dismay) and they put out Raw Power, one of our world's greatest records. Then in 1976 when both Bowie and Iggy were basket cases, Bowie grabbed the Ig-monster outta some mental institution and went to Berlin. Bowie put out the brilliant Eno-trilogy and produced two of Iggy's best, The Idiot and Lust for Life, co-wrote some tunes and played keyboards on Ig's tour.
I had to go way back cos you kids are sa doggone smart. Give us a fun rock 'n roll story, pleazzzzz!
