Best Lyricists

james_delve [Edit] [Delete] 23:22, 20 September '04
Who are the best ever lyricists?

maybe you can explain your choices and even give examples.

My favourites are:

Chino Moreno: ("Well, here's my new address, 665...oh, I forget, now take it home, run with it, now write it down now, did you get it?)

Morrisey: The guy has a good sense of humour and he has incredible with, yet still manages to write about really serious subjects (e.g Girlfriend In A Coma), everything he does is really tongue in cheek, and theres no one else like him!
("Theres a club, if you'd like to go. You could meet somebody who really loves you. So you go, and you stand on your own. And you leave, on your own. And you go home, and you cry. And you want to die")

and finally...Thom Yorke: Genius.

("The mongrel cat came home. Holding half a head. Proceeded to show it off. To all his new found friends. He Said, 'I been where i liked. I slept with who i liked, she ate me up for breakfast, she screwed me in a vice. And now, i don't know why i feel so tongue tied"
