I was thinking about Ian McCulloch slagging Bono in the 80s. It's interesting to note that naturally if you're a star promoting a rivalry, then obviously you're not gonna pick someone who *really* is crap. I don't envision Karen O ever saying, Well that Dido isn't half of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. Er, no shit! Anyway, in the 90s we had Oasis and Blur. But what about the first big rivalry of the new millenium? Hmm. What two bands are/will be doing the "he said/she said" stuff on the covers of Rolling Stone and NME and so on?
