in The City Unsigned 2004
Hi,
The organisers of In The City 2004 have extended the submission deadline of ITC Unsigned competition to Friday July 30th, which is fantastic cos the original deadline crept up far too quickly.
Here at DESIGNER MAGAZINE we're asking that any bands that send demos into ITC also send over demos to us for inclusion in an ITC Preview which will run in the weeks leading up to the event itself which takes place between September 18th-21st

....In the meantime though we thought we'd fill you in a little about our previous ITC Previews...
* During ITC Unsigned 2002 we tipped little known bands The Darkness and The Raveonettes for major success. The Crimea, who we tipped in 2002, have also recently signed a worldwide deal with Warner Records
* During ITC Unsigned 2003 we interviewed a little known artist called Tim Arnold who was playing with Countess Zapak at the time...that guy has recently been featured in the NME, The Times, The Daily Mirror and just about every publication under the sun for his part in the whole Dot Cotton / Libertines drug rehab story.
Elsewhere Youth Movie Soundtrack Strategies are just about to release a mini-album on Fierce Panda to universal rave reviews, Sara Lowes is about to release a single independently though Simon Webbe of Blue fame's label Love 4 Music and 28 Costumes recently got picked by music industry publication Record Of The Day as their selection of the day.
* Interestingly a number of the bands we featured in the "Best Of The Bands that didn't get picked for ITC Unsigned 2004...but should have" have attracted industry attention. Noisecandy, who recently changed their name to The Noise, have had A&R staff from BMG and major labels travelling to Wales to rehearsals and We Start Fires decided to release their debut album independently
PLEASE NOTE: If you don't plan to enter ITC, but still want us to hear your latest bands / artist still send it over to the address below leaving the ITC Unsigned Prefix off the address
Cheers
