How do people usually find out who is supporting the bands they are going to see??

What I usually do is to -
a) Visit the band's official site and check for word
b) If there's no official statement - check the community boards - if there are any
c) Check posters and magazine adverts

But these methods still don't always work.

Does anybody else have some good tips? Maybe a website that shows support bands that are confirmed?


I don't really understand why bands and venues for that matter, don't make more of an effort to let gig goers know what support bands are playing. Makes no sense to me, especially considering how many support bands I've seen that I've gone on to watch on their own headlining tour.
