Fringe Festival sees Ray Lee’s Ethometric Museum transform Edinburgh cellar
Ethometric Museum
Enter the eerie cellar of an Edinburgh Masonic Lodge to find an archive of Ethometric mysteries, a collection of extraordinary machines brought to life by world-renowned sound artist Ray Lee. Appearing to be artefacts from a hitherto unknown branch of science, Ethometric Instruments are fascinating relics from a bygone age. Each one of these curious, arcane devices creates specific harmonic frequencies with which Lee conjures up an immersive experience full of sonic riches. Best known for his Herald Angel award-winning, world-touring show ‘Siren’, Lee’s new show is a journey into a hypnotic and mesmerising world of sound, music and magic.
Commissioned by OCM and supported by BAC as part of the Scratch Festival.
Audience reaction: “Phenomenal.” “Just bizarrely fantastic.” “Exceptional orchestration.”
