Cocoon Counter Culture Fest, 12/13 Sept, Edinburgh w/Jesu
The Cocoon fest makes its debut at Edinburgh's GRV project,? multi-?arts space on the 12th and 13th of September 2009 and with the following bands confirmed:
[b]Jesu[/b] - Justin K. Broadrick's shoegaze/doom pioneers play their first show in Edinburgh, [b]Crippled Black Phoenix[/b] - another Edinburgh debut from Ex-Iron Monkey / Electric Wizard drum king Justin Greaves' cinematic mercenaries - CBP also feature Joe Volk, Dominic Aitchison (Mogwai) & Andy Semmens (Esoteric) on Geoff Barrow's (Portishead) Invada Records. The [b]Cut Hands[/b] afro-noise project of [b]William Bennett[/b] (of power electronic pioneers Whitehouse) also joins the proceedings. Plague-ridden death-drone purveyors [b]Wraiths[/b] will pull at your stem cells and London based blissed out breakcore-ist [b]Project Serendipity [/b]comes our way with a visually driven set of blips n beeps. Local funeral doom merchants [b]Of Spire and Throne[/b] complete this round of announcements...

There will also be a into the wee small hours of the Saturday evening with DJs from Edinburgh's best, truly alternative and innovative club nights [b]The Tomb[/b] (Doom / Death / Metal), [b]Fimbulvetr[/b] (Dark Ambient) & [b]Transmit[/b] (Downtempo Electronica) + dark cabaret infused antics from Edinburgh based alternative variety show [b]Kabarett[/b] in a dedicated theatre space (woooo).
We will also have art exhibits by local low-brow and pop surrealist artists, visual cinematic displays, vegan friendly nibbles, a record & arts fare & associated goings on over the weekend ...
