How's everyone getting down there this weekend?

My plan was train on Saturday morning [have to work Friday], then a lift back on Monday, but the lift may now not be possible. The train is so expensive :/ £57 return. And that's before I get the bus or taxi from the station. National Express isn't much cheaper, and takes seven [seven!!] hours.

Anyone got any cheaper ideas? [Other than hitchhiking, walking, or bouncing down there on a spaceball]
