Advice wanted on the cheapest way to do Primavera Sound
Hi all,
With the latest batch of confirmations for Primavera Sound, my pained excuse of it being to expensive for me to attend now causes my spleen to act up which is a tell-tale sign of my body reacting negatively to a decision my brain has made.
The reason I wrote it off is because of the additional costs to the festival ticket itself rendering the festival pretty expensive. It falls into three categories really.
Ticket
Have to buy, earlier the cheaper although it's a bit late for that now.
Accomodation
I'm guessing this isn't a camping affair, having been to the place the festival is held so am I right in thinking the best way is to get a hostel booked somewhere or something? Still a bit expensive though as Barcelona in general is so expensive. Are there any specific places that ram you in like battery hens for tuppence and exist only a short walk from the festival site, or is this wishful thinking? It's not like I'd be spending much time there, particularly sober.
Transport
A quick browse on flights doesn't bode well, but I'm guessing that's probably the best way to travel. Is a train option any better? I may be able to convince my girlfriend into making it a holiday that happens to end at Primavera Sound, that way rationalising the trip a bit more. If accomodation is far from the site, will that mean a lot of cost locally too? If a flight is the only option, will it mean a pricey transfer from an airport hundreds of kilometers from the site itself?
I know these are a lot of questions to ask, but I figured it might be easier to prey on those who've done it before and learned lessons first hand than end up writing it off as "the one that got away".
Any help greatly appreciated.
