Who's afraid of the big bad World Cup? Not us! On June 12th Wreckless Eric releases 'Whole Wide World 4 England' / 'Wayne Rooney's Foot' on fierce panda records. This is a World Cup record with a heart and some great chanting. This is also a wonderfully euphoric revisitation of 'Whole Wide World', Wreckless Eric's mighty new wave classic from 1977, a time way back when England didn't even bother to qualify for the World Cup. The Plan:
*The football kicks off in the Dublin Castle bar at 8.00pm. England against Sweden. Could be quite important.
*Half time occurs at 8.45ish.
*The second half of the football kicks off at 9.00pm.
*The football ends at 9.45pm, whereupon LIGHT BRIGADE hit the stage in the Dublin Castle venue.
*At 10.30pm WRECKLESS ERIC takes the microphone for a headline set. Could this be the greatest footie / rock crossover night out since that really good Dodgy launch party in Regents Park in Euro '96 when England beat Holland 4-1? Heeeere's hoping...
