The Blood Arm, The Vichy Government and an almighty party in Nottingham
The High Society's End of Term Party! (all welcome)
The Social, Sun June 4th
£6 (£3 with highsoc card)
THE BLOOD ARM
Beloved of Alex Kapranos, The Blood Arm are an unholy union of The Doors and The Fall.
THE VICHY GOVERNMENT
The Vichy Government press spoken-word provocative philosophy into infantile casio macabre. Endlessly quotable, they snap protests about Cliché Guevara across Kate Moss's tits or creepily purr Make love to the cam-er-a, c'mon like a deb-u-tante. They have been daubed with a reputation for antagonistic, anti-consensous pop and their agit-cabaret live show has become a thing of legend.
Manics biograhper Simon Price has hailed them as the most offensive band in Britain. They have supported Scissor Sisters and they have featured on both Angular Records compilations. Their acerbic karaoke can be probed into at length on their debut album Carrion Camping, which will be available as soon as any record company is gullible enough to release it.
THE LUCIDA CONSOLE
Emotive post-hardcore from Halifax. Favourites of this here site and have featured on both Dance to the Radio compilations.
Plus SPECIAL LIVE GUESTS. They're noisy, angry and surreal and may feature a member of one of the greatest British bands of the last 5 years who were named after the death of a German communist leader.
Not to mention the Highsoc DJs.
Dress up in black and white and you get a free drink/present!
