A UK Exclusive by Berlin electronic artist par excellence Uwe Zahn aka Arovane, who by his own admission had retired from live performances last year. Well, he’s back for a special one off. Expect seriously fresh produce and classics from the Lilies era on City Centre Offices from a man favoured by the great Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Digitonal are the neo classical electronica hybrid. Tonight, is there official Big Chill warm up show, with the full band in operation. Electric violins, harp, drum machines, computers and synths masterly handled by a truly live group at the top their form. Stunningly rendered soundscapes to expand your mind.
Sancho is Seed Records latest signing. This evening the 7 piece band and Paper Cinema will be performing music and visual pieces from their forth coming album ‘Mystery Year,’ on Seed. This is progressive/kraut/folktronica as its absolute pinnacle. Prepare to be beautifully blown away.
The Exgirlfiends are a raucous post punk band that are rawer than a skateboarder’s knee, wittier than Richard Pryor on a good day and as equally depraved as the Marquis de Sade when alone in his own bath tub. In short they are a modern day Devo with more spunk and spit and less surf.
The Exgfs will be the first to release on Seed’s new offshoot imprint, Seed Satellite, later in the year.
Brusque, disturbing, and blending anything from spoken word to song amongst a backdrop of drums, bass, field recordings and the sound of a human dying, Le Couteau Jaune are something quite different indeed. Each show is unique from the last with rotational special guest members often taking to the stage to perform. Get ready to be seriously subverted.
DJ Required is the Seed DJ host tonight. He has produced on Ommm’s debut album, ‘Testing the Equipment,’ for Adaadat as well as scoring Channel 4’s, ‘Star Maths,’ back in the day of woolly jumpers, beards and Big Bertha. A sight behold, the man uses no headphones and will mix anything from his own lo-fi bootlegs to rave classics and The Clangers, Lukas from Maximo Park commenting once, on seeing him shake a party up with only a radio and CD player, ‘Quite simply the best DJ in the world.’
