it sounded better in my head @ night and day cafe, june 13th
the lineup is all confirmed for the first ever it sounded better in my head at the lovely night and day cafe on oldham street, manchester.
WHAT'S HAPPENING?
well the doors are going to open at about 7:30pm, and then the following ace-o bands/artists are going to wow you with electronic goodness.
GERMLIN [www.myspace.com/germlin]
"Germlin is not from New York City - he is from Glasgow. He is called Joe, and likes to wear a hat. His music sounds like the future sounded in 1980, but also like it's from Tokyo in the year 2110. Each song has multiple sped-up hook laden sections squashed together like warm Chewits in your coat pocket. It's a beautiful, disgraceful cartoon mashup the likes of which the world has never seen. With lots of pounding electrospazzgabba headache potential" - DrownedInSound.
TRADEMARK [www.myspace.com/trademarkonline]
"As you might expect from a Truck outfit, Trademark hail from Oxford, but as you might not expect, Trademark’s schtick involves shiny harmonic synths wrapped in a prickable electronica bubble. They have that mid-90’s sprightly synth-pop charm, such as was offered up by Dweeb amongst others back then, that only youth can bring. However, somewhere between what Qhixldekx and Trust No One are trying to do down in Portsmouth, they also move seamlessly to a Pet Shop Boys-like maturity, a post-millennial Ladytron-esque electronic sheen and on ‘Getting By’, an almost ecological calm a la FortDax"- Vanity Project
:( [www.myspace.com/colonopenbracket]
"
:( hail from aberdeen scotland.
:( is pronounced "colon open-bracket"
:( is the worlds most state of the art 8-bit(ish) new wave band.
:( is sometimes referred to as being emo, idm, screamo, electro or the future of music" - themselves.
pagan wanderer lu [www.myspace.com/paganwandererlu]
"His name may make him sound like an old hippy with an acoustic guitar but with his synthesized beats and satirical lyrical bite he will go a long way" - eGigs
THEN, as if that wasn't enough, there will be dj-ing by the it sounded better in my head residents steve and tristan (they couldn't think of any cool dj names) and guest dj slots from john brainlove and pagan wanderer lu.
sounds like fun eh? that's june 13th at the night and day cafe. it'll cost you about a fiver to get in.
