BRAINLOVEWORLD
Hello.
Apparently nobody reads this board?
Well, I always check it. So I'll post this here. Reply though! So I know if it was worth doing.
In case any of you haven't been back to the 'zine for a while, we have lots on there since Christmas. Miss AMP wrote a wonderful piece - her 2005 in love songs. Genevieve Williams has reviewed the beautiful new album from Swedish band Jeniferever (I don't know how to classify them - folky slowcore maybe?). Richard Peel has written one of his comic strips for us on the theme of Leonard Cohen, and his involvement with wizards (of course). I reviewed Lightning Bolt and the Alisa Margolis exhibition at the Vilma Gold gallery. There's more coming soon, including a new column from Fidel Villleneuve.
The label has been getting lots of coverage recently, since Real Pirate Radio and our 2005 tour. There was an interview with Napleon IIIrd in the last Plan B, for a start, and his latest song "The Conformist Takes it All" has been widely played on internet radio stations and podcasts, and also on Xfm. He did a session for GlassShrimp on Resonance recently, which we hope to make available soon in some form. He's also recording his new EP and starting work on a debut album which we will have some exciting news on very soon (this one will be nationally distributed if all goes to plan). We have a big feature in the new i-D magazine, which I think is out tomorrow. Applicants are working on their first 7", to be released in June, just in time for both the World Cup and our summer tour. They will also be playing Frog at the Mean Fiddler on June 3rd. Pagan Wanderer Lu has some sessions in Napoleon IIIrd's studio soon, and we're planning the release of his new EP for around the time of the tour. And maybe we will even be doing some dates in mainland Europe this autumn. We're also looking at working with some new bands on various EPs and 7" singles... details to come soon.
