The Young Playthings @ Dirty Boots Club - Brighton Engine Room Mon 21st Nov
Brighton's best new club night Dirty Boots is back on Monday at the Engine Room, 1 Preston Street and this time we have a band!
The Young Playthings - www.myspace.com/youngplaythings - are the latest addition to the Dischord of London - Smalltown America records - and are more fun than is usually permitted at a gig. But its ok - i'll follow their set with a Tool song or something just to stop everyone grinning. Onstage at 11:30.
When not watching one of the best up and coming bands in the country, we will be playing great contemporary bands like this :
LCD Soundsystem, Interpol, Futureheads, Clor, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, British Sea Power, Young Knives, MIA, Maximo Park, Be Your Own Pet, Go Team, Chalets, Distophia, Help She Can't Swim ....
And alternative legends like this :
Sonic Youth, Pavement, Nirvana, Pixies, Beck, Fugazi, Blur, Flaming Lips, Tom Waits, Magazine, Gang Of Four, Pulp, Prodigy, Bowie, Velvet Underground, RATM, maybe even some Mansun...
Amongst hundreds of other rock, alt-rock, electro, dance, britpop, funk, punk, indie acts as far as our extensive collections takes us.
Its £3 in, £2 with NUS.
Drinks are CHEAP!
Vodka Shot : £1
Selected Bottles : £1.50
Selected Pints : £2.25
The Engine Room is situated at the seafront end of Preston Street more or less opposite the burnt out West Pier. It's one stop past Churchill Square on the bus or a three minute walk.
See you there. 10:00 - 2:00 - Monday 21st November!
