Sonic Vibrations presents...
THE WANDS:
"Hailing from Denmark, psych duo The Wands are the aural sound of an acid trip at the blissed-out point when your arms appear to be made of rainbows. Early single 'Hello I Know The Blow You Grow Is Magic' should give a fair indication of their penchant for the mind-altering, while the warped guitar bends and lyrics about "opening your mind" of 'The Door' are as brilliantly whacked out as they come." - NME
With breathtakingly well-played concerts, these sonic wunderkinds from Copenhagen, Denmark have impressed psych fans all over Europe with their kaleidoscopic tunes and hallucinogenic guitar-bling. With a healthy reliance on classic main influences such as Beatles, Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix, The Wands have been described as "a straight throwback to 60's era psychedelia with subtle contemporary touch-ups". Join their journey back to the era when "they just discovered blues and everything was possible" and let their musical spells overflow your ear canals with otherworldly colours.
Their first release, the brillantly named EP, "Hello I Know The Blow You Grow Is Magic" was released on the label Fuzz Club Records in late 2012. Since then the band has been touring around Europe playing highly regarded festivals such as Eurosonic Festival in Netherlands, Spot Festival in Denmark, Phonofestivalen in Norway, Yellowstock Festival in Belgium, not to forget appearances at the annual Reverb Conspiracy Festival in London two years in a row. A recent highligt in the band's carrier was their concert at the swiftly growing Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia where the band conqured a crowd of more than 500 people: "...their captivating set ends up being one of the highlights of the entire weekend" - Drowned In Sound The Wands is about to release a new single 7" -
EARLY GHOST:
Made up of members hailing from both Brighton and London, Early Ghost have built up a reputation as one of the most exciting acts to emerge out of Brighton's fledging neo-¬‐psych scene. Coming together over a shared love of The Doors, Early Ghost's unique sound sits somewhere squarely between the garage-¬‐driven psychedelia of The 13th Floor Elevators and the Californian surf of The Growlers.
With a wide array of instrumentation that includes both brass and banjos, Early Ghost may be helping pioneer the UK post-¬‐psych scene, however the vast range of sounds afforded to the expansive band has made them stand out amongst their peers. Over their short lifespan, the sextet have already supported such acts as Beirut, Neutral Milk Hotel and First Aid Kit, as well as performing at Green Man, Hop Farm, Camden Crawl and The Great Escape festivals amongst others.
PARLOUR:
Parlour is a product of Angela Won-Yin Mak quietly obsessing over psych repetition, hymn melodies, pop harmonies, tape hiss and white noise, brought together and produced by Rory Attwell.
