This Friday is the third of our one-off nights at the Canterbury Arms in Brixton. This month, the night is called Always Different, Always The Same, and it's a John Peel disco.

To mark ten years since John Peel’s untimely passing, we're presenting an evening dedicated to his fearless, adventurous spirit. Our playlist for the night will consist exclusively of songs that featured in one of the Festive Fifty end of year charts. This can be from any year – dating back to 1976 when the Festive Fifty was a list of the Peel listeners’ all-time favourite songs right up to the final Festive Fifty to run before John’s death in 2004 – and from any genre. So expect anything and everything, played in any order, and at whatever speed feels appropriate at the time.

Our guest DJ for the night is Daniel Novakovic of So Tough So Cute.

This night is going to be lots and lots of fun. We've got quite a few of the Festive Fifty broadcasts on CD, so John will be on hand to introduce some of the songs throughout the evening, and the breadth of music available is really exciting.
