Sat Jan 18th - Huw of The Pooh Sticks DJs at How Does It Feel To Be Loved? at the Phoenix in central London
The first HDIF of the new year is this Saturday January 18th, it's at the Phoenix, and our guest DJ is Huw Williams of The Pooh Sticks.
Oh yes, a mere nine years after his last DJ appearance at HDIF, Huw Pooh is back back back, for another super-danceable session of indiepop, 60s girl groups and more. You just have to take a look at the bands and songs namechecked in the Pooh Sticks' classic "On Tape" to get an idea of what Huw might play for us. "Falling And Laughing" by Orange Juice (the original Postcard version). "Songs For Children" by The Pastels. Sky Saxon's solo album. All the Velvet Underground records. The Monkees' "Head" soundtrack. "Be My Baby" by The Ronettes.
You want it, he's got it.
I'm talking 'bout everything.
The first HDIF of the new year is always a blast, so please come out for a dance. Admission is the usual price of £4 for members and £6 for non-members, and £6 in advance. You can pick up an advance ticket here - http://www.wegottickets.com/event/254741
