Allo Darlin' are set to delight and frustrate fans in equal measure this summer by playing four teeny tiny shows at different London venues representing the four points of the compass. The West is represented by Ginglik in Shepherd's Bush, the South by the Half Moon in Herne Hill, North by St Pancras Old Church and the East by The Vortex in Dalston.
Elizabeth Morris explains:
"We're recording our new album in London in the summer, and we had the idea that it would be great to road-test the new songs before we put them to tape.
We haven't played any small shows in London for a long time, and we're aware that sometimes the best venues are the smallest ones. We've always felt that we play our best at these kinds of shows, and it doesn't seem fair that our London audience misses out on them.
So we decided to do a show in every corner of this fair city of ours, in four venues that we have never played before. It's a London Compass, if you will. An ancient church, a jazz venue, a converted Victorian WC and, the classic, a back room of a pub.
We will be playing a lot of new songs, but of course there will be room for old favourites.
With some amazing support acts, we hope you can find time in your summer to join us."
