Sat March 16th - Camera Obscura special at How Does It Feel To Be Loved? at The Phoenix in London
This Saturday will be a Camera Obscura special at HDIF at The Phoenix. Quite why we haven't held a Camera Obscura special before at the club is a mystery, but with the band poised to return with a brand new album, now seems to be the perfect time. We'll be playing songs from throughout their career, from "Eighties Fan" right up to "Honey In The Sun", so please come along for a dance! Our guest DJ is Dickon Edwards, of Fosca, who has DJ-ed at HDIF from the very beginning, and is one of my favourite regular guests. I always know we're in for a great night when we have Dickon as our guest.
Indie song of the week: "Number One Son" by Camera Obscura. Hand-clapping, hip-swaying happiness from the band's second album. Can't wait to shimmy and shake to this beauty on Saturday night!
Soul song of the week: "I Taught Him" by Gloria Scott And The Tonettes. Pure girl group heaven!
