Inventive and intuitive bluesy trio, The Archie Sylvester Trio are influenced by Cream, BB King, Rory Gallagher and Traffic to name but a few in their rich mix, formed in March 2012. They recently recorded their debut EP, on analogue. Produced by Brian O’Shaughnessy (Primal Scream, The Long Blondes, My Bloody Valentine). It features the tracks “Yellow Dress”, “Queen Of The Night” and “I Want My Heart Back”. With their expansive sound creating a buzz around Blues/Rock, the EP is already picking up by independent stations like Radio Shoreditch. Formed in March 2012, the last night of February 2013 seals an amazing first year. https://www.facebook.com/archiesylvester
It's about time we properly introduced you to an enchanging new excitement; Jean Genie's Massive Hugs is the alter-ego of London music scene queen-pin, Jean Genie Graham. Bringer of joy to the universe and a multi talent (DJ, radio presenter/producer, event promoter, plugger and all round connector). She started performing as JGMH in 2011 and by 2012 her sweetly crafted chords had made an impression that earned a slot at Hop Farm Festival. For 2013, Jean Genie is working on demos as she develops into a charming, and increasingly in demand, performer. https://www.facebook.com/jeangeniesmassivehugs
Look out New York, Dexy is coming (April). He fronts the very up and very coming Sweetheart Contract. "A band as au fait with the Smiths back catalogue as they are with the Descendents, as delicate as a Kate Bush ballad on one hand, as hard as a Gun Club stormer on the other. Recent shows have seen vocalist Dexy K as much in the crowd as on the stage and this audience connection seems set to continue and develop exponentially as songs begin to populate a set that is already beginning to sound stronger than some bands’ greatest hits records." God Is In The TV tip for 2013.
Before heading Stateside for some shows in April, look out New Cross, Dexy is coming. To ArtBeat. This very evening. https://www.facebook.com/SweetheartContract
Late night boozing and dancing with DJs after yet another of those ArtBeat amaze-bills! So recommended headliner (trust me?), again at Amersham Arms' tardis of a back room bar (the latest was tv comedian, Russell Howard, on Monday night).Last one the men in white coats arrived and there was another stage invasion, more films made, more friends made. Involvement invited, Share The Joy - http://facebook.com/artbeat.stars
