City Showcase Festival celebrates its tenth year with a week of events around the capital starring, (to name but some – all ready armed with acclaim and interest - alphabetically); Alexander Wolfe, Black Star Boy Cloud Kid, Carnival, Callum Rafferty, Canvas Wall, Comatose, Daniela Brooker, Danny Shah, Floodliners, Fractures, Gem And The Deadheads, Iktsuarpok, Jamie Fisher, Jazz Morley, Lillian Todd Jones, Linn Oberg, Magazine Gap, Manflu, My Little Empire, Ocasan, Passport To Stockholm, Pink Cigar, Rev78, Shanel Brown, St Spirit, The Francis Jetty, The Jellycats, The New Union, The Otherside, Theo Altieri, Tin Soldiers, Too Many Ts, Vinyl Black Stillettos, Warehouse Republic, We Are Lost Boys and many more playing live, plus art from Fearless Vampire Killers, DJs, workshops and exhibitions by the new music photographers / film makers documenting future potential now. “Given that this is the event that first showed such budding superstars as Razorlight, Keane and Amy Winehouse, there are bound to be a few genuine gems on display” (The Evening Standard)
City Showcase is a not-for-profit company breaking talent from a range of music genres. –There is a proven history in capturing new fans while influencing tastemakers in the industry and media. It comes alive as a festival, conference and music world gathering with active support and involvement from taste maker media and industry as well as music trade bodies such as PRS For Music, PPL, ASCAP, MMF, UK Music, BASCA, BPI and AIM representing.
North, South, East, West and Central. The 9th October opening party is at The Bedford in Balham. the closing party on 13th October is a 14+ mini fest at Amersham Arms in New Cross.
Most events are central. Other venues include The 100 Club, 229, The Borderline, The Apple Store, 93 Feet East, Gibson Guitar Studio, in store shows on Regent Street, a world wide live stream alternative music show on 12th October (2000hrs-0000hrs GMT) via http://playhardgigs.com from Camden Purple Turtle and an outdoor stage in Heddon Street on 13th October.
Meet and greet? There will be W1 amazing space networking / session hubs at Phoenix Bar in Cavendish Square (with on screen exhibiting and more) from 1.30pm-5.30pm Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th October). And Saturday 13th October at Tibits on Heddon Street. Musicians, writers and photographers are warmly welcomed to mix it up.
This year’s event is, additionally, in association with student organsations, as well as the continued support of an array of major music industry supporting the legacy of music.
