Drum (and bass) roll please! We Fear Silence will once again join forces with Friction's irrepressible Shogun Audio movement on Saturday 11th August. The label's flagship show here at Cable will deliver the goods with a stellar selection of cutting-edge sub-sonic sounds. First up, as always, is Radio 1 man Friction who'll treat us to another trademark 2 hour journey through all things Shogun. Joining him is Digital Soundboy stalwart Breakage who announced his arrival, back in 2000, with a raucous remix of a hardcore classic, Nasty Habit’s ‘Here Come the Drums’ on Reinforced. A string of releases on some of Drum & Bass' leading imprints has followed, firmly cementing Breakage's position as a badman in the scene.
Next in line is duo of the moment Spectrasoul, who's eagerly anticipated debut LP 'Delay No More' is due to drop. The hype surrounding this pair is immense so don't miss their performance in Shogun's hallowed 'Temple' for a taster of what's to come. Shogun trooper Icicle enlists back up power from Emcee Recordings man Jubei and with collabs' on Goldie, Alix Perez, Rockwell and Vicious Circle's productions, we're in safe hands! Shogun stalwart Alix Perez will also join the action, as will another production duo who wear the Shogun badge The Prototypes. Often described as the 'new breed of Drum & Bass' this pair are sure to perform. Offering up a solid base for this epic rave is New Zealander Chris Truman, known in the Drum & Bass world as DOSE. His beats have been snapped up by the Commercial Suicide, Samurai Music and Renegade Hardware labels, amongst others, and his DJing services have been enlisted anywhere that's worth it's salt. Pull Up!
Meanwhile, Room two brings further pressure with sets from North Base and Rob Luis. Expect some serious 'tuna' from two heads we're really digging at the moment. Alternative sets come from Spectrasoul and Reference so our second room is well worth a look in! See you on the floor...
