Fri June 1st - Last Brixton HDIF for three months!
This Friday will be the last Brixton HDIF until September, as we'll be at Indietracks in the first weekend of July and we're taking the first weekend of August off. Our guest DJs are longterm HDIF regulars Tamla Tim and Frankie, who will be gracing the decks as a farewell to Frankie who moves to New York in June. Friday is also the start of a ridiculously long weekend, as the following Monday and Tuesday are bank holidays thanks to the Jubilee. So come and dance and drink to your heart's content, as you'll have FOUR WHOLE DAYS to sleep it off! Hurrah!
Indie song of the week: "Are You Who You Think You Are?" by The Spook School. Box fresh indiepop fun from Edinburgh - think early Hefner, Buzzcocks, Tigercats. You can download the song for free here - http://thespookschool.bandcamp.com/album/are-you-who-you-think-you-are-home-demos
Soul song of the week: "Too Hot To Hold" by Betty Everett. Super danceable mod soul classic. Listen to it here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odnKlAsVhe8
