ARRIVE EARLY FUCKERS!
Daughters of the Kaos and guest Ricky Haley from The Liars Club of Nottingham play a rampant eclectic mix of indie n alternative stuff, lektro stuff, old riot grrl stuff and whatever fucking stuff they stuff stuff.
Live!
Dandi Wind
Dandi Wind manage to surpass most of their peers by creating a
completely gimmick-free stew of electro, punk, riot, and new-wave.
'Wind's vocals are solid but they can pitfall into typical riot-grrrl gymnastics
and timbre. Without detracting from Findlay's production but avoiding really
bringing anything new to the table, Opaine recalls Siouxsie, Karen O., and
Joan Jett–three admirable influences to be sure, but Opaine does only
enough to emulate these artists without truly developing their niche.
The group's live show exudes charisma, a characteristic also in spades on Traps.
This is in large part thanks to Opaine–as Findlay plays the quiet genius in the
band's inner-workings, Opaine grabs the spotlight with her anarchic howl
and spastic presence. He wears a suit, she whatever is most torn in her closet at
the moment.- Glorious Noise
Stink Mitt
These drrrty burds are all the way from scenic Vancouver in Canada.
They're trailer-clash cougars /sci-funk sistahs/gyrating G-rappers and they're
cumming right back for more Motherfucker action after a storming set
earlier this year. MC/vocalist Jenni Craig (man what a voice) and Betti
Ford alongside MC/producer BigStuff have earned the rep of being one
of Canada's most exciting underground bands with their sharp
vocals, rhymes and production - not the mention the incredible subversive
social commentary inherent in their jaw dropping lyrics.
The Victorian English Gentleman's Club
They hail from Zena's home town Cardiff, so are obviously
brilliant. They're also causing quite a stir around and about London town.
Some folk have described them as 'simply fucking ace'. We would
describe them as mixing equal quantities of Sonic Youth, The Rogers Sisters,
B52s with even slight hints of early Pavement to magic up a jerky, angular art
rock fuzz. They also dress pretty snappy too.
Dada Swing
Did you miss these lot last time they played? Did yer? Did yer?
Well make sure you don't this time or you'll get a firm spanking as
Dada Swing provide entertainment to the max. Two girls and one
boy making cutting edge Italian noise pop just how we and you like it.
Glockenspiels and everything.
